Define stress and differentiate between pressure and stress. State the short and long term effects of stress on the individual and the organisation. Identify the early warning signs of stress to enable a proactive approach and create an environment where prevention of stress is the keyword. Carry out informal meetings designed to support the risk assessment process. Devise strategies for dealing with stress in line with their legal duties and responsibilities as laid out in the HSE Standards on work-related stress and the recent BSI PAS10/10 guidance on the management of psychosocial risk in the workplace. Areas covered include: Setting up a risk assessment Evaluating the results Production of agreed action plans for joint responsibility to manage stress. Identifying training needs Monitoring and reviewing
